For all of us at Royal Cup, the holiday season is a time to give back to our community. Birmingham has been our home for over 120 years, so it brings us great joy to make a difference in the lives of those around us and build toward a better future.
In 2016, we were honored to sponsor the annual Sugar Plum Shop at Children's of Alabama, where parents of currently hospitalized patients could “shop” – free of charge – for gifts for their child and his or her siblings.
Each year, we have the opportunity to sponsor an organization that helps underserved populations in our neighborhoods and spread some holiday cheer. This year we are excited to announce Grace House Ministries as our Royal Cup cause for the 2018 season.
Founded in 1992, Grace House serves girls and young women in the Birmingham community currently living in foster care. The organization provides a number of services, including a home with live-in parents, homecooked meals and daily devotions. Grace House is centered around the mission of providing these young women with a family atmosphere and the tools they need to break the all-too-common cycles of poverty and abuse.
Grace House has been serving Birmingham for more than 25 years, growing from just one home suited for eight girls to eight properties with room for 28 young women. They have also established a campus school, transitional living program and a community garden in recent years, with plans to build an outreach center in the next few years.
The Royal Cup family is thrilled to support Grace House and its mission, and through the collective work of our team members and customers, we’ve been able to raise over $1,000 through our Christmas tree raffle and pop-up shop events. We encourage you to learn more about Grace House Ministries and consider donating to a cause that truly changes lives every day.
Happy Holidays from our Royal Cup family to yours and thank you for supporting Grace House Ministries!
